Hi, I’m Michelle — the creative behind Playful Works.
For over 30 years, my curiosity has taken me on an ever-evolving journey through the creative industry — from designing prints and products for retail and wholesale and building magical spaces (both physical and digital) where creativity thrives.
I’ve worked with high-end brands, managed corporate creative teams, forecasted trends, brought product ideas to life from sketch to shelf — and I’ve loved every bit of it. But after decades of helping others launch beautiful things into the world, I felt the call to start again. With more mess. More meaning. More space to make just for the joy of it.
So at 50, I went back to university to study business and design. Because I still had questions to answer, and big ideas that refused to stay quiet.
That leap led me here — to Playful Works, a studio space built around hands-on workshops, creative mentoring, and community connection. At the heart of it all is my table — once our family dining table (and still is occasionally), now my creative hub and the long-standing home for meaningful conversations, artist gatherings, and workshops. It’s where ideas take flight, stories unfold, and where I invite you to pull up a chair and join in.
These days, I help fellow creatives — especially women and small business owners — bring their ideas to life. I mentor those just getting started (or starting over), co-create workshops for those ready to teach, and design products that turn everyday moments into something magical.
Whether it’s your first workshop or your fifth side hustle, this space is for you. For the sparks you haven’t quite figured out yet. For the joy of making. For your story — told through colour, craft, conversation, and creativity.
Let’s make something happen.

My work has always revolved around dreaming, designing, building, and making — in every form it takes. I’ve spent years figuring out how to bring creative ideas to life, how to share meaningful work with the world, and how to help artists and makers get noticed for the magic they bring.
But more than anything, what lights me up is sitting beside creative people — helping them believe in their ideas, refine their vision, and take brave steps forward. I’ve been lucky enough to connect with incredible artists and creative thinkers across the globe — and now, I get the joy of sitting with you.
That’s the heart behind At This Table.
This isn’t just a mentoring offer or a workshop. It’s a space — real and metaphorical — where creativity is welcome in all its mess, magic, and unfolding. Whether you’re joining me for a one-to-one conversation, gathering with a circle of like-minded creatives, or sitting down at my actual studio table, you’re stepping into a space built on trust, curiosity, and growth.
Here, your ideas matter. Your story matters. And you’re not in it alone.
This is your seat at the table — and I’m so glad you’re here.
